Cut The Fear Driven Thought Loop

Dear Friend,

I want to share with you this story. A few days ago, I woke up to hammering and saw cutting noise that was so loud that I can hear my neighbors arguing with the construction workers and asking them to stop working. I have to admit that even though I had just finished my morning meditation and yoga practice, I couldn't help but feel agitated by the loud noise as well. I also discovered that there were more than one construction site in the area so the noise was double and coming from every angle. As we are all staying home these days and there's no escape, the noise was impacting my ability to focus on work, and disturbing my live stream meditation and yoga sessions, and as you can imagine it is very difficult to do my own personal practice under such conditions. This is it! This is personal! They are sabotaging my entire life! So with a tense body and short breath, I went to the neighboring unit to ask them to reduce the noise. As I walk in, I can see that there was only one worker, he had a mask covering his mouth and nose, he was dripping sweat and panting. The unit was smoky and smelled like metal. I can tell he was struggling. My heart went out to him right away, as I can see how hard he was working in those intense conditions. I asked him what was going on, and he said, its only me, I have no help. I have to replace all the hardwood floor by my self and remodel the entire unit. I looked him in the eye, as that is the only form of contact we have these days, and told him to hang in there and silently sent him compassion from my heart. I went back to my place and ever since the noise ceased to disturb me, it was still happening but I can barely even notice it.

Sometimes our need to be right, which is a need that is connected to our emotions is usually higher and stronger than our ability to see what is true, which an ability connected to our conscious awareness.

During mediation, the mind follows the breath, and the breath shapes the mind. When we slow down the breath, the mind begins to follow, and when we control the breath, we control the mind. When we control the mind, we are able to clearly see what is true and control our emotions and need to be right. So the breath, mind, and emotions interweave and work together to bring us into a state of homeostasis, which is a state of harmony, relaxation, and calm.

When the mind is calm, it becomes still like water in a lake, and when that water is very still, only then are we able to see clearly to the bottom of the lake. Meditation is one of the 8 limbs of yoga, and the definition of Yoga is "yoga is the removal of the waves that disturb the peace within the mind". ~ Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

So if you have been experiencing the fluctuations of the mind, like I have been lately, I think you will enjoy this meditation. As it is my soul's purpose to help people heal, transform and manifest, I offer you this powerful meditation and breathwork practice. This pre-recorded practice is available to you for 24 hours. It is part of my 21 day meditation and breathwork program, Just Breathe.

Emergency Brake Meditation & Breathwork

Emergency Brake: Not all of the thoughts and stories in our minds are true, and not all of them serve us well. This practice is designed to help cut the fear driven thought loop of the reptile brain and tap into the part of the brain that is linked to creativity and inspiration.

HOW TO PREPARE AND GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS PRACTICE

  • Keep a journal near by, and write down what came up for you during meditation. This can help clarify and dismantle limiting beliefs. It is also a powerful way to unload toxic energy and transmute it on to paper, which is made out of matter. So you transmute energy into matter

  • Find a quiet place

  • Make yourself comfortably seated on a chair, cushion, or mat

  • Be seated upright for the breathwork portion. For the meditation portion, you can continue to be seated or you can recline on your back for more support

OPTIONAL PREPARATION

  • Light palo santo, incense or a candle

  • Put on a dab of essential oils

  • Hold on to healing crystals or stones

  • Have a warm blanket nearby

  • Invite a friend (virtually of course)
