We hear people say stuff like, “you have to be love to attract love”, “be the change that you want to see in the world” and “you attract what you are”. But how do we actually do and become that? As you know, I can only share my own experience. So here’s what I believe in my own heart to have worked for me.
The heart is the largest magnetic field in the human body, it is a vortex of love energy, and it will draw to it (to you) whatever is already inside of it. So if you feel love in your heart space, you will attract even more love. If you feel abundance and wealth in your heart space, you will attract more abundance. If you feel peace within your heart, you will attract even more peace into your life experience, and so on…
The best way to fill your heart with all the love, joy, peace and abundance and become a magnet for all those things is through practicing gratitude. Because we only feel gratitude when we’ve received something. So if the body is feeling grateful you’ve now opened up the body to a receptive state. I deliberately say “practice” gratitude, because it takes practice to shift your mindset to a grateful one. Our reptile survival brain is hard-wired to anticipate danger and live in fear. So it takes practice and discipline, just like it takes practice to build physical strengthen and open up the body through a consistent yoga asana practice. It takes practice, healthy habits, and discipline to create new neurological pathways in the brain and rewire our state of being into a grateful one.
Gratitude Habits That Make You a Joy Magnet
Journal: Keep a journal and a pen next to your bed, and before you go to sleep write three things that you are grateful for that happened that day. Keep it simple, it doesn’t need to be something earth-shattering.
Connect: Every day, tell at least one person why you are grateful for them. Ideally, you want to tell them to their faces, but you can call, text or email.
Meditate: Practice a laying down mediation, with your chest open and your arms spread wide to open up the heart area. Send the breath to the heart space and silently say to your mind, "my mind thinks loving thoughts that send a signal to my heart to feel loving feelings. My heart opens up with feelings of joy, and signals back to my mind to think even more loving thoughts". Repeat this cycle 21 times or more. So you replace the deeply ingrained fear loop with a loving one to expand and magnify your energy field through the heart space.
This powerful practice will slowly begin to snowball and impact all areas in your life, and then you will begin to notice the miracles that happen in your life on a daily basis. Shifting you to a mindset of gratitude, as these simple habits become a way of being and therefore manifest a reality that is fulfilling and abundant with joy.
